2026 First-Day-of-School Ceremony

On Thursday, September 3, the big day finally arrived: The new first-graders were warmly welcomed at our Eilermark School. Four new first-grade classes began their elementary school journey on this special day.

Excited and full of anticipation, the children arrived at the orientation ceremony with their families. The current second-graders kicked off the ceremony. With a welcome song, they created a warm and cheerful atmosphere and gave the new students a very special welcome. Ms. Leuker then welcomed the new first-graders with a few warm words. She wished the children a great start, many wonderful experiences, and, of course, lots of joy in learning and discovering.

Then things got really exciting: The children were allowed to go to their first class with their homeroom teachers. There, they got to know their new classmates and their classroom, and were able to get a little taste of what everyday school life is like at Eilermarkschule.

Afterward, the families had the opportunity to take some souvenir photos of this special day in the schoolyard. Then the new first-graders headed back home—with many new impressions and surely a little anticipation for their next day of school.

We wish our four new first-grade classes a wonderful start at Eilermarkschule and an exciting, joyful, and unforgettable elementary school experience!

A warm welcome to all you penguins, lions, dragons, and meerkats!
