There was a very special atmosphere at the Eilermark School on the weekend of September 19-21. The children had spent a week practicing for the big performance at Circus Tausendtraum. The time had finally come: the circus ring was to open on Friday at 6:30 pm, followed by three performances on Saturday and two on Sunday.
The young artists gathered in front of the gymnasium 45 minutes beforehand. Their class teachers and the circus team trainers were already waiting there to give them a warm welcome. Then the big changeover began: Sparkling costumes, colorful wigs, glittering vests and circus accessories allowed the children to slip into their roles immediately. Anticipation and a little tingling in the stomach were clearly noticeable. Meanwhile, more and more visitors streamed into the large circus tent. Parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles and teachers eagerly looked for their seats.
At 6:30 pm on the dot, the circus music played and the children walked proudly and radiantly into the ring. They were greeted by loud applause, turning their initial nervousness into enthusiasm.
The performance began with the clowns. With their funny interludes, they made the audience laugh right from the start and created an exuberant atmosphere. Then things got serious: the fakirs appeared. They bravely ventured onto broken glass and nails and impressed the audience with their fearlessness - the spectators held their breath.
This was followed by the artists, who amazed the audience with balancing acts on the rope and tricks on large balls. The floor acrobats were particularly impressive with their pyramids and artistic figures, which required team spirit and body tension. They performed impressive high-altitude tricks on ladders. The jugglers were not to be missed either: With a sure hand, they spun plates on sticks and demonstrated their skills. Another highlight was the magicians, who created magical moments with their amazing tricks - many spectators wondered how these tricks worked.
In between, the guests could fortify themselves at the popcorn stand, with sausages or cool drinks.
After many exciting and funny program points, the performance finally ended with an encore. Once again, the tent was filled with loud applause. Proud faces could be seen everywhere: among the children, who had turned their excitement into courage, as well as among the parents, who admired their children full of enthusiasm.
The positive feedback received directly after the performance was particularly pleasing. Numerous parents approached the teachers and the circus team to thank them warmly for this special evening. Many said how impressed they were by the performances and praised the excellent organization of the entire project week. Again and again they said: "That was an unforgettable experience - for our children and for us."
The circus week with Circus Tausendtraum was an extraordinary project for the Eilermark School that will live long in the memory. It not only showed the children how much fun circus can be, but also what can be achieved with courage, practice and team spirit. A big thank you goes to the circus team, the teachers and the many parents who made this magical evening possible with their commitment and support.
