The Eilermark School recently held an exciting and educational project on the topic of dental health. All children in years 1 to 4 took part and learned lots of interesting facts about their teeth as part of the project. The project was led by the Westphalia-Lippe Dental Health Working Group in the Borken district.
The aim of the project was to teach the children the importance of dental care at an early age and to teach them the correct tooth brushing techniques. After a brief theoretical input, it was straight into practice. The children were able to apply and deepen their newly acquired knowledge at various stations.
The stations offered various practical exercises. The children tried out how to brush their teeth properly themselves and learned how to promote their dental health in the long term through fun activities. The focus was on topics such as proper nutrition, dental care products and the importance of regular visits to the dentist.
The children were particularly thrilled when they were rewarded with a toothbrush at the end of the project day, which they proudly took home with them. This small gift will not only remind them of the project day, but also help them to continue using what they have learned at home.
