On July 1, 2025, the time had come again: Eilermark School welcomed its new first graders. The eagerly awaited first-year celebration began at 3 p.m. - this year, however, in a slightly different form than usual.
The new pupils are actually allowed to take part in various games and hands-on activities in the school playground at the start of the festival. However, due to the extreme heat, this part of the program had to be cancelled at short notice. The good news is that the stations will of course be made up for after the summer vacations, so that the playful introduction to school life will not be completely canceled.
Despite the shortened version, the atmosphere was warm and festive. The sponsor classes of the new first graders welcomed the children with a welcome song and loving words from the class representatives. Ms. Leuker then addressed the children and their families. In her welcoming speech, she officially welcomed all the new pupils and their parents to Eilermark School.
Things then got particularly exciting for the new first-graders: together with their future class teacher, they were not only able to get to know their new class, but also their classroom as part of a first short lesson. The teachers were each supported by two children from the sponsor class, who acted as little experts for the new arrivals.
In the meantime, parents had the opportunity to spend the waiting time in the schoolyard with drinks and chat with each other.
Despite the heat, this year's first grade party was a successful and warm start to the school career of the new Eilermark pupils. We are already looking forward to welcoming our new first-graders again at the school enrolment ceremony!
